This is a visual guide explaining the way Relocate Abilities work.

Normal Champions[]

Fig1

Relocation priorities

For 1X1 champions it's pretty straight forward, the target will be beckoned/relocated to the top left of the unit doing the beckoning/relocating, if that space is occupied it will beckon/relocate to top right, then bottom left, then bottom right, like it's ilustrated in the image in the left.

Large Champions[]

Fig2

2x2 relocation priorities

For 2x2 champions each of these 4 squares have actually two spots where a champion can be relocated to, what I will call a "high" spot and a "low" spot. High spots are shown in red and low spots in green. The way the game chooses where the 2x2 champ will appear is from the highest spot available on the map (next to the relocating champion) to the lowest spot, ties being won by the left side.

When keeping in mind the way it works for 1x1 champions, it can be unintuitive at times, since it means that a spot of square 2 (top right) can have priority over a spot of square 1 (top left). If "top left high" is occupied, it will relocate to "top right high" even if "top left low" is available.

In the example below, the Deep Elf Monk is blocking relocating to "top left high" but not "top left low". But since "top right high" is available and is higher on the map than "top left low" that's the spot where the pit Dragon will be beckoned

Large Champions Relocating Priorities[]

For a more visual and simplistic view, here is the order in which the spots will be checked for availability, from A to H:

Priority

Priorities for relocating large champions

If none of these spots are available beckoning and relocating will be impossible, it will not beckon/relocate to 2 squares away. Same goes for 1x1 champions, they can only be beckoned/relocated to the 4 squares immediately next to the beckoning/relocating champion.

Notes[]

- If the champion your are trying to beckon/relocate is blocking one of the spots (can only happen with 2x2 champions) and that beckoning/relocating it would free that spot, that spot is not considered free and the beckoning/relocating will be to the next available spot.

- You can't relocate a champion on lava, chasm, impassable or inaccessible such squares will be considered unavailable, even if, for 2x2 champions, only one of the 4 target squares are of such type.
