Also, I have mentioned this to User:GabrielQ, but feel free to pass along projects you have to do that can be automated. For example, "Runes included in this set" in Maljaran War can be done by script (using the xml) and that way you don't have to do the formatting by hand.
(Another way to think about it is that you would probably just copy and paste the formatting into each page instead of retyping it each time. Having the bot do it is the next level of automation -- the bot is the one doing the copying and pasting instead of you.)
Humn... ah... it sounds nice... the problem is... well, I have no freaking ide about coding or using bots, so yeah, I have been copypasting the 'template', then manually formating the specific information. If you know some page with a tutorial, or some kind of "Bots for Dummies", I would glady read it and apply it to current and future pages.
I understand that -- that's why I suggested you "pass along projects" by which I meant "let me know of projects" which can be automated. I have already spent time developing a bot to interpret the XML file so projects involving the XML file can be automated.
I will try to create pages for all expansions, and quite probably will try to do the same for artists pages. Then will send you a pm so a bot can be run to manually add respectively "Runes within this set" and the gallery thing on each page. Give me a week or two.
I realize you didn't make the page, but I wanted to update you.
Users are welcome to contribute anything useful; it is not my goal to police contributions. However, I notice lists like these become obsolete quickly, so my advice is to not spend time on them. (Especially when a good alternative exists.)
I was trying to shave the 'wanted pages' list, and noticed there is a lot of pages with only one link, which quite often are missspelled abilities (too many "Attack - X", when the correct way to write is "Attack: X", or "X Immunity" when is the other way around), and a large part of them are on that list.
Is good to heard is going down, I was working one letter at the time (currently, B) and I noticed is a huge mess that would take more than I expected to be fully corrected.
This wiki has a few "pet project" pages -- ambitious pages players have created. Some of them (like the Glossary of Abilities) are more ambitious than I would recommend players take on at this stage, and usually the creator is absent a month or two after creating them.
Players are welcome to work on their own projects, but I have seen some great pages from a variety of players. The race pages that already exist by WraithxxV (such as None and Bard) are great, and some of your artist pages also turned out well. These are the sorts of things humans do well and bots do not.
(Note: You may have already gotten an automated welcome message but this isn't an automated message)
Welcome to the wiki and thanks for editing. You are welcome to contribute whatever. I'll still point out that lists of all runes or numbers of runes (such as "there are ___ plants") are less great because they can easily become outdated.
Specifically for lists of all runes of a specific type, I probably should have added race as a category. I'll talk to GabrielQ about this. But I can do this automatically using the (manually run) updating bot script, so it updates automatically.
